Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) Breakfast with ALLARM!

On November 5, 2019, The Alliance for Aquatic Resource Monitoring (ALLARM), had the opportunity to meet and have breakfast with Joel Reynolds and Jacob Scherr from the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC). Both lawyers have worked with various organizations like watershed organizations, Trout Unlimited, and other community organizations when it comes to dealing with protecting the environment and the community that is trying to preserve it.

One of the highlights from our breakfast with them [is what they shared about] the work that they are currently dealing with which is Ocean Pollution. Joel explained how the seismic noises from the ships are affecting the dolphins and other marine life in the ocean. It was interesting to learn as well about the work that they have done [at] the local level to raise environmental awareness among a community. For instance, throughout the NRDC website, there are blog posts from various members of the council about the project they are working on, as well as fact sheets to support their claim for their projects. All in all, this breakfast was a great way to know more about the Natural Resources Defense Council, and their mission for protecting the environment both [in the United States] and internationally.
