I don’t have a great knowledge of poetry, but from what I’ve read, I’d have to say that my favorite poets are Robert Frost and ee cummings. Frost describes nature beautifully, but his poems often have deeper meaning as well. My favorite poem of his are “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening”. Every time I read it I can picture the scene so clearly. I have not read much ee cummings, but I really loved ” anyone lived in a pretty how town ” when I read it in eleventh grade. He was so inventive with how he tried to portray his message in his poems, by using structure and grammar in unconventional ways. His poems can be bewildering at first, but I think it’s worthwhile to try to figure out the meaning. Also, as I remember what I read in school this past year, I remember that I was really drawn to Dylan Thomas’ “Do Not Go Gentle into that Good Night”. The emotion is so strong and vivid in such a constrained poetic style. It is hard for me to choose a favorite poet, as I have only read bits and pieces of each author.
