For my first visit to a religious site, I attended the Asbell center. This was a Jewish service. I haven’t attended any type of religious service in years, so this was quite an experience. I have a lot of Jewish friends, but I have never dug in to their religion. My family is catholic and they have always passed on Catholic beliefs to me. I attended a Jewish service because of all the friends I have that are Jewish and I wanted to look more into their religion. The service I attended was the Shabbat. I felt at home right away, everyone was real nice; the ceremony was real down to earth. My friends guide me thru most of it since I attended the service with them. The reading in Hebrew and the lighting of the candles reminded me of the catholic mass. The catholic mass and the Jewish service aren’t so different and this was an experience I would never forget.
