For anyone that has not seen Major League, “Wild Thing” is the nickname given to Ricky Vaughn. Vaughn is the fictitious closer on the Cleveland Indians and is played by Charlie Sheen. In the movie, the owner dies and his wife takes over. The wife wants to move the team to Florid because of the warm weather. To do this, she rids the team of any good players and signs a team full of scrubs. The team started off very poorly, but ended up playing very well and playing the Yankees in the playoffs. Vaughn came in to pitch to the last batter to the tune of the song “Wild Thing.” Every time I watched this scene as a kid I got goosebumps, and it remains one of my favorite movie scense to this day.
