When you think of the Red Sox of this year you most likely think of David Ortiz, Jon Lester, John Lackey, or Dustin Pedroia. Nobody thinks of Stephen Drew, but he was a big reason the Red Sox won the World Series. Besides his home run in game 6, Drew did not hit very well in the series, but his defense made up for it. Drew made ever routine play, and even made a couple great plays that probably saved a run or two. Stephen Drew played s well that, in fact, the Red Sox are planning to offer him a new contract this year because his current one is up.

Stephen Drew is a great player who has had his career derailed by many unfortunate injuries. I’m glad to see that he’s playing up to his potential, even if it is for just one night. I still have nightmares about how the Padres drafted Matt Bush instead of him.
