Kim Jee-Woon


Kim Jee-Woon was born in 1964 in Seoul, South Korea. Though he is better known for his work in films such as A Tale of Two Sisters (2003), The Good, the Bad, the Weird (2008) and The Last Stand (2013), Kim initially launched his career when he wrote and directed The Quiet Family in 1998 ( The Quiet Family was a moderate hit at the box office, screening on 42 screens nationwide, selling a total of 343,946 tickets in the Seoul region alone, and ranking number six domestically in 1998 ( The film also earned numerous awards such as Best Live Action Film at the 1999 Fantasporto Festival, Best Director and Best Film at the Malaga International Week of Fantastic Cinema in 2000, as well as receiving the nomination for Best Film at the 1998 Sitges-Catalonian International Film Festival ( The film was rereleased with English subtitles as a Hong-Kong import DVD by Modern Films in 2002 (media
