We’re Back!!!

Well, this post is long over due but I feel like the beginning of this semester has been particularly crazy.  It feels like no matter how many hours I spend at CSE, I just don’t get it all done but today I’m blogging.

So the Eco-Reps are back in action.  We’ve had our training and our first official meeting is next week, but that doesn’t mean we haven’t been working.  This week we met up with the RAs and the RCDs to have a little so that everybody could  get to know each other a little better and brainstorm event ideas or the semester. It was also a chance for the RAs to work out with the Eco-Reps how involved they want to be in the semester and their vision for us.  I would say that for the most part, it was a successful endeavor.  Some groups really got going and now have a bunch of great ideas of events that they can have with their theme.

Speaking of theme…This year our theme is Reuse or Upcycling.  In the past we’ve done Reduce through our energy challenge and we’ve done recycle through Recyclemania but we have never done the third “R”.  So Pintrest here we come!!

We want to try and get people thinking about what they can reuse. For example, these bracelets are made from plastic water bottles and pretty paper.  Super easy and really fun.

So obviously this is going to be a great semester and the Eco-Reps are going to have a lot of room to get creative.  I can’t wait to see what they are going to do.

In addition to upcycling, we are trying to build a stronger Eco-Reps community. I am really looking forward to an awesome semester.
