Job Expectations: Work out of the Millheim office for the equivalent of 3 to 4 full days (24 to 32 hours per week, with the, possibility of some weeks being closer to 40 as needed). Primary Responsibilities: To assist with organizing the events surrounding LFW and the Farm Tour, to include working with farms and volunteers as well as assisting with promotion of the event. May have some involvement in developing the brochure and map as well as posters and passes for the farm tour. Must be able to attend markets during LFW (Aug 2 to 9) and be available for the Farm Tour (Aug 9).

Depending on the interest of the person selected for this position, additional tasks can be added to tailor the experience.

● Professional Writing: Press releases for Local Foods Week, Farm Tour, FarmBased
Education events; Buy Fresh Buy Local enewsletter content (the chapter’s primary means of consumer outreach); Field Day report for PASA’s print newsletter (attend, take notes, write a follow up article); Posts about BFBL events for WPSU’s Local Food Journey blog; Business & farm profile(s) for PASA’s newsletter; Book reviews/interviews for PASA’s newsletter (likely selected from speakers from upcoming conference)
● Outreach/PR: Develop & execute a social media plan for promotion of BFBL, LFW & Farm Tour; Press releases
for Local Foods Week, Farm Tour, FarmBased Education events; Buy Fresh Buy Local enewsletter content;
Posts about BFBL events for WPSU’s Local Food Journey blog
● Development: Seek additional partners for the BFBL campaign; work with staff to seek and manage sponsors for
LFW

QUALIFICATIONS
■ Experience with social media and event promotion
■ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
■ Keen attention to detail and strong organizational skills, particularly of complex data
■ Ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time, prioritize workload and meet deadlines
■ Ability to relate to a wide variety of people and communicate effectively and pleasantly
■ Sense of calm when dealing with problems that may arise, able to think on one’s feet
■ Flexible schedule, and ability to work long hours and occasional weekends able to commute to the Millheim office daily
■ Congenial team player with good sense of humor and commitment to PASA’s mission a must!
