In this course, students have pursued the following objectives:
- enhance critical thinking about gendered aspects of our own life and how they are represented in film and media;
- discuss visual strategies of film analysis and film making on the four categories of mise-en-scène, cinematography, sound, and editing;
- connect films to their social context and to global societal changes;
- write competently and critically about film, using the conventions of the genre (close analysis, blog reaction, review)
- produce creative and intellectually engaging presentations in the form of podcasts and videographic essays based on the mastering of technical skills.
