Recently, the Idea Fund was approached by pastor Stephanie Hasenbrink, of the First United Church of Christ, about having Dickinson College students give lessons pertaining to sustainability to her congregation. She was interested in increasing the sustainability of the church and wanted to educate the people there about different topics. She wanted people of all ages to understand the issues and the impacts of our decisions. The IF Community Outreach Team along with other Dickinson students are going to the church three sundays in April (1,15, & 22). They will be focusing on the issues of disposable versus reusable cups. They will be working with the children of the church to compose a narrative about the lives of the two different types of cups and how they are different and which is better. The Dickinson College students will present this narrative to the whole congregation on the 22nd, which is Earth Day!
