This is an excellent article providing an example of how lowering a price ceiling reduces the deadweight loss. A related article highlights that the lower price ceiling moves consumers down and along the demand curve, increasing their ability to purchase medication. It also shows that some pharmaceutical companies who were gaining a large producer surplus might lose but other companies who meet the new demand will gain.

This is a great example of positive economics in which economic programming allowed for a change in political policy. By implanting this price ceiling it will grant access and demand of certain drugs greatly effecting the pharmaceutical businesses in the subcontinent.
