The Seasonal Job Surge: Supply or Demand?

The article addresses the supply & demand of summer jobs. It seems pretty obvious that both supply and demand are in play here, but it’s especially disingenuous to imply that supply is the dominant factor. Summer jobs aren’t created to prevent teenage boredom, they’re created because of increased demand for leisure services during the summer..

I thought this article was very interesting because it seemed so simply explained that the stimulus law would fail. With the presentation of the research, it was obvious that teens getting out of school were the important factor in the supply and demand of summer jobs. I also thought the opinion of the author was very clear and supported by evidence. Good article.
