International Poetry Festival meets a Russian poet

Renowned Russian conceptualist poet Lev Rubinstein visited Dickinson College in the fall of 2009 at Dickinson’s International Poetry Festival. He presented his famous works “Mama washed the window”, “This is me”, “Here I am”, and “Life is everywhere”.

Read a Dickinson student’s reflections on Rubinstein’s original conceptualist performance:

“On Monday we saw a very unique presentation of poetry by Lev Rubenstein who was recently at Dickinson. The first part was basically an unorthodox combinational of various musical and pseudo-musical instruments. The second half was sublime despite the surprisingly few lines of spoken poetry. The instruments that increased in number and sound as the poem progressed really complimented the lyrics and even added a second level of meaning. It’s hard to explain, it’s something you have to experience,”  Phil Kiffer’11
