The Sustainable Food Committee (SFC) serves as the link between Dickinson’s Dining Services Department and Dickinson students, faculty and staff. The Committee gathers weekly to discuss the current food system, brainstorm alternative ideas, and implement projects to better educate the Dickinson Community about their food.

The goal of SFC is to first educate members of the committee about how Dining Services functions and the challenges associated with making changes in the current system.  Secondly, the committee is encouraged to gather perceptions of food from Dickinson Community members while simultaneously educating them of the implications of their food choices.

Dickinson’s Dining Services Department is extremely receptive to feedback. The intention of SFC is to harness the feedback of the campus community, combine it with the goals of SFC and attempt to implement such ideas with Dining Services.
