This is the first section of my piece that I worked on at ADF over the summer. I’m going to be seperating the end (the repeated collapsing on the floor)and putting that as a finale after all the sections are done.

I see a toying with the idea of identity.

The sound of the falling makes quite an audio impact. I like when the music is gone and I can really hear them fall. (That sounds really masochistic…)

It’s interesting that you have an old female crooning and three dressed – and then semi-dressed – women on stage. I wonder if you’d consider a male dancer (i.e. The piece you showed at the Get Off The Internet performance where you dressed first androgynously and then seemingly feminine)? That’s more or less a thought, not a critique. I, like Layla, see a definite exploration in identity. Particularly female identity. I also agree that the powerful sounds the dropping bodies make without the music at the end is fantastic.
