Sometimes I get emails from students with an attachment, but no message of any kind. That&#8217;s not good communication. A minimal message is an acknowledgment that this is one-to-one communication. It&#8217;s a basic courtesy. The lack of the most basic courtesies (Hello Professor, Thank you, etc.) can reflect rather poorly on a student.
