Mrs. Biko was born in the Transkei and went to Durban to train in midwifery. Steve was in medical school in Durban at the time and the two met there. In 1977 Steve Biko was killed by the security police, and Ntsiki was left to raise their two children alone.<\/p>\n<p>Interview Information:<\/p>\n<p>As Steve Biko&#8217;s wife, Ntsiki Biko offers a unique perspective on both the Black Consciousness Movement and the man who was most responsible for it.
