During apartheid, Ms. Bongco served as an activist for the African National Congress (ANC) and as an active member of <em>Umkhonto we Sizwe<\/em> (&#8220;the Spear of the Nation&#8221;), the armed wing of the ANC. The second interview with Ms. Bongco took place at a braai held at the Jooste family residence. During the braai, host families and friends of the research team gathered, and sang many of the old liberation songs from the struggle.<\/p>\n<p>Interview Information:<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Bongco discusses her family, and her experiences growing up under the Apartheid regime.
