This article first examines the meaning of <em>puthujjana<\/em> in the P\u0101li <em>Nik\u0101yas<\/em>. It then analyses the contextual meanings of <em>dukkha<\/em> and <em>domanassa<\/em>, including a discussion of their types based on a thorough investigation of the P\u0101li <em>Nik\u0101yas<\/em>.
