In keeping with my interest in the history of the Carlisle Fire Department, I found information on the Empire-Friendship Fire Companies and Firefighters Association.
\nIn 1992, Empire Hook and Ladder Company and Friendship Fire Company #5 joined together to build and share a new fire station. The Association was created by Empire Hook and Ladder Company #43 and Friendship Fire Company #42.
\nLike the Union Fire Company Station, which is mentioned in a previous post, Headquarters Fire Station, as the new station is called, also houses a museum dedicated to remembering and preserving the history of the two fire companies.<\/p>\n
