Hello, my name is Isaiah Bañuelos, I am from Riverside California repping the Inland Empire! Food has always been a part of life, whether that has been helping my grandma preparing the masa for the tamales, cutting the fruits with my Tia on a hot summer day, or simply cooking for my family alone, it has always been there in my life. It was a way for my family to come together whenever we hadn’t seen each other in quite some time. Even if we were not able to eat together, the food we made was always a reminder that we would always support one another. Now, taking this course, I am able to learn more about the basics of what I am cooking and eating. Riverside is traditionally known for our street vendors and trucks, so taking the time to understand a little bit more is something I am grateful for.
