{"id":1963,"date":"2011-12-09T11:43:38","date_gmt":"2011-12-09T11:43:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.dickinson.edu\/cop17durban\/?p=1963"},"modified":"2011-12-09T11:43:38","modified_gmt":"2011-12-09T11:43:38","slug":"at-the-end-of-the-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.dickinson.edu\/cop17durban\/2011\/12\/at-the-end-of-the-day\/","title":{"rendered":"At the End of the Day&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sam Parker &#8217;12\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.dickinson.edu\/cop17durban\/files\/2011\/12\/COP-Earth.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1967\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.dickinson.edu\/cop17durban\/files\/2011\/12\/COP-Earth-227x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"227\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.dickinson.edu\/cop17durban\/files\/2011\/12\/COP-Earth-227x300.jpg 227w, https:\/\/blogs.dickinson.edu\/cop17durban\/files\/2011\/12\/COP-Earth-776x1024.jpg 776w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 227px) 100vw, 227px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The last day of the COP.\u00a0 Negotiations will be coming to a close at some time in the hours of the morning.\u00a0 It is debatable whether anything is really going to come out of the negotiations.\u00a0 Possibly the Green Climate Fun will be settled and put into place in some capacity, KP2 may be in place to some extent, and how knows what else they will agree on.\u00a0\u00a0 The talk of late here in Durban though has been one of optimism and progress.\u00a0 The negotiations are beginning to ignore the U.S.\u00a0 because of their inability to make any kind of agreement that would better our country, our world and provide a prosperous and healthy planet for us and our future generations.\u00a0 All that being said though, I am still hesitant to believe that anything good will come out of these negotiation.\u00a0 Maybe it is because it has been a long two weeks and I know feel broken and disheartened by the stay of the UNFCCC and the negotiation, I cannot say for sure.\u00a0 I continue to hope and believe in people and that countries are not just negotiating out of their wallets, but at my core I know this to be untrue.\u00a0 If something comes forward in this last day, I will surprised and extremely happy.<\/p>\n<p>With that, though, I realized that to accomplish something for the people actions must be taken by the people.\u00a0 We can no longer wait for our governments to do anything;
