{"id":350,"date":"2014-09-03T04:46:43","date_gmt":"2014-09-03T04:46:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.dickinson.edu\/cop20\/?p=350"},"modified":"2014-09-21T14:47:50","modified_gmt":"2014-09-21T14:47:50","slug":"impacts-of-the-erratic-beast","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.dickinson.edu\/cop20\/2014\/09\/03\/impacts-of-the-erratic-beast\/","title":{"rendered":"Impacts of the Erratic Beast"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Coming from a family of Bangladeshi immigrants who want\u00a0better opportunities for their children and for them to know their roots, my parents made sure my sisters and I knew our culture, language, and traditions. \u00a0My parents took my sisters and I to Bangladesh at a very young age so we can fully emerge ourselves into our culture.<\/p>\n<p>This past summer I visited Bangladesh for the third time. \u00a0It was truly a wonderful trip like all of the other times I have visited. \u00a0However, during this trip I noticed the impacts of climate change; the Erratic Beast. \u00a0Bangladesh is a beautiful country with so much green scenery but it will soon be gone due to rising sea levels. \u00a0There was an interesting and thought-provoking film released about the impacts of climate change specifically in Bangladesh called\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=TEDX2HFiVuY\">Bangladesh: A Climate Trap<\/a>. \u00a0It is a climate trap because of rising sea levels, weather patterns changing, and biological systems being affected with the rise of CO2 levels.<\/p>\n<p>In Spencer R.
