If you are interested in more information please send me an <a href=\"mailto:francese@dickinson.edu\">email <\/a>and I can get you in touch with Zhiying.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h1>Dictionaries<\/h1>\n<ol>\n<li><em>Dictionarium Latino-Sinicum, <\/em>\u300a\u62c9\u4e01\u6c49\u6587\u8f9e\u5178\u300b, 1965 \/ 1980, by WuJinrui (\u5434\u91d1\u745e). Wu was a Catholic priest in Taichung(\u53f0\u4e2d), he said in the preface that this dictionary cost him 15 years. Most of the illustrative sentences are from Cicero and Caesar. (Difficult to buy.)<\/li>\n<li><em>Dictionarium Latino-Sinicum, <\/em>\u300a\u62c9\u4e01\u8bed\u6c49\u8bed\u8bcd\u5178\u300b, 1988, by XieDaren (\u8c22\u5927\u4efb). It said that Xie majored in medical science, but there seems no more information of him. This dictionary is based on a Latin-Russian dictionary (named \u041b\u0430\u0442\u0438\u043d\u0441\u043a\u043e-\u0420\u0443\u0441\u0441\u043a\u0438\u0439 \u0421\u043b\u043e\u0432\u0430\u0440\u044c, by \u0418. \u0425. \u0414\u0432\u043e\u0440\u0435\u0446\u043a\u0438\u0439 and \u0414. \u041d. \u041a\u043e\u0440\u043e\u043b\u044c\u043a\u043e\u0432, published in 1949. I can\u2019t read Russian, a friend who can read both Latin and Russian told me this). To some extent, Wu\u2019s Dictionary may be a little better than Xie\u2019s, because we cannot know from which work an illustrative sentence comes. \u8f9e\u5178cidianand \u8bcd\u5178cidian and same in Chinese. (Also difficult to buy.)<\/li>\n<li><em>Dictionarium Parvum Latino-Sinicum, <\/em>\u300a\u62c9\u4e01\u8bed\u6c49\u8bed\u8bcd\u5178\u300b, 1988, by XieDaren (\u8c22\u5927\u4efb). It\u2019s an abridged edition of Xie\u2019s Dictionarium Latino-Sinicum. (Difficult to buy.)<\/li>\n<li><em>Dictionarium Sinico-Latinum, <\/em>\u300a\u6c49\u6d0b\u5b57\u5178\u300b, 1853. It\u2019s a CHINESE-LATIN dictionary, rare and interesting. The preface is in Latin, no more introduction is necessary.<\/li>\n<li><em>Lexicon Magnum Latino-Sinicum <\/em>and<em> Lexicon Manuale Latino-Sinicum Sinico-Latinum, mini-dictionaries.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>An Austrian professor in RUC named Leopold Leeb (his Chinese name is \u96f7\u7acb\u67cf[LeiLibo]) is popularizing Latin and Greek for undergraduates as well as senior high school students in Beijing, he has compiled a <em>Dictionarium Parvum Latino-Sinicum<\/em> (\u300a\u62c9\u4e01\u8bed\u6c49\u8bed\u7b80\u660e\u8f9e\u5178\u300b, 2011). Perhaps Leeb\u2019s mini-dictionary is easier to use, it is very easy to buy on Amazon.<\/p>\n<h1>Grammars<\/h1>\n<ol>\n<li><em>Syntaxis Linguae Latinae Grammatica, <\/em>\u300a\u62c9\u4e01\u6587\u53e5\u5b66\u300b, 1942, by missionaries. The preface is also in Latin.<\/li>\n<li><em>Basic Course of Latin, <\/em>\u300a\u62c9\u4e01\u8bed\u57fa\u7840\u300b, 1983, By XiaoYuan (\u8096\u539f). It does not have an original Latin or English name, the title is my translation.<\/li>\n<li><em>Lingua Latina pro Auto-Studio, <\/em>\u300a\u62c9\u4e01\u8bed\u81ea\u5b66\u8bfb\u672c\u300b, 1989, By XieDaren (\u8c22\u5927\u4efb).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Some Latin and Greek courses have been translated or published in China these years, such as Wheelock\u2019s Latin (6e., 2009) and professor LiuXiaofeng (\u5218\u5c0f\u67ab)\u2019s \u039a\u03b1\u03b9\u03c1\u03cc\u03c2: <em>Reading Greek<\/em> [revised edition] (\u300a\u51ef\u82e5\u65af\uff1a\u53e4\u5e0c\u814a\u6587\u8bfb\u672c[\u589e\u8ba2\u7248]\u300b, 2013). LuoNiansheng (\u7f57\u5ff5\u751f) and ShuiJianfu (\u6c34\u5efa\u99a5)\u2019s <em>Classical Greek-Chinese Dictionary<\/em> (\u300a\u53e4\u5e0c\u814a\u8bed\u6c49\u8bed\u8bcd\u5178\u300b, 2004) has also been published (but there are many misprints produced in the course of importing Greek letters, what I found have already been more than 300.
