He will teach two courses during the year, work on his own research projects (a large-scale investigation\u00a0into manuscripts copied at ninth-century Corbie, a French scriptorium responsible for the\u00a0preservation of a wealth of classical Latin texts),\u00a0and contribute to the Dickinson Commentaries Project.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.dickinson.edu\/dcc\/files\/2012\/05\/BHuelsenbeck_SapsuckerWoods.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-38\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.dickinson.edu\/dcc\/files\/2012\/05\/BHuelsenbeck_SapsuckerWoods-300x275.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"275\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.dickinson.edu\/dcc\/files\/2012\/05\/BHuelsenbeck_SapsuckerWoods-300x275.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.dickinson.edu\/dcc\/files\/2012\/05\/BHuelsenbeck_SapsuckerWoods-326x300.jpg 326w, https:\/\/blogs.dickinson.edu\/dcc\/files\/2012\/05\/BHuelsenbeck_SapsuckerWoods.jpg 366w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We are grateful to the College for making this exciting position possible. Bart holds the PhD from Duke University (2009), and brings a wide and deep set of skills to the job. He has taught for thirteen years in many contexts, from high school and junior high schools (inner city and suburban) to graduate level Latin courses at Cornell. His recent course &#8220;A History of Reading&#8221; at Cornell addressed, among other things, the question of what digital technologies are doing to us&#8211;to how we read, behave, and think.<\/p>\n<p>As a longtime\u00a0contributor to the Center for Hellenic Studies <a href=\"http:\/\/chs.harvard.edu\/wa\/pageR?tn=ArticleWrapper&amp;bdc=12&amp;mn=1168\">Homer &amp; the Papyri<\/a> database, a significant component of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.homermultitext.org\/\">Homer Multitext<\/a>,\u00a0Bart has worked for years to connect classical antiquity to the present revolution in digital technologies.
