Conclusion

Our investigation into George Orwell’s poems, particularly the one we started with, The Lesser Evil aimed to uncover whether themes of religion and faith were prevalent across his works and how the length of his poems might reflect his thematic emphasis. By comparing the length and content of Orwell’s poems, we sought to understand his literary techniques and thematic priorities. Although out computer science group could only provide data on the length, word frequency, and stanza frequency this information was still important and highlighted the diversity in Orwell’s poetic works. Despite not being able to answer all the research questions we thought were important, this study still showed us the importance of poems length and thematic content in Orwell’s writing, offering valuable insights for our final projects questions.
