The Devil’s Den, a convenience store located on the lower level of the Holland Union Building on the corner of College and Louther Streets, will soon be getting a new look.
Dining Services announced via their social media channels on Tuesday, May 9th that Devil’s Den will be undergoing renovations and becoming a grocery store come Fall 2023. The construction began two weeks later after the announcement.
Errol Huffman, Director of Dining Services, says this rebrand will better assist the student body.
“We will be offering a variety of grocery items that students will be able to purchase using meal plans rather than using additional personal finances,” Huffman said.
Only Flex plans, declining balance, student charge, and credit cards will be accepted at Devil’s Den this fall. Any 21, Any 15, or cash will not be accepted as forms of payment at the new grocery store. Students should choose their meal plan accordingly by Thursday, August 24 at 4 PM.
The purpose of the renovations is to help safely house the new grocery store products, which will include pantry items, fresh fruit, vegetables, and more.
“We will be installing equipment appropriate to a grocery store such as produce merchandisers and durable shelves,” Huffman said.
The new Devil’s Den is planned to re-open sometime in the Fall 2023 semester. Follow us on Instagram @dsondining for more Devil’s Den announcements and updates.
