Job Title:  PennEnvironment Campaign Organizer

Job Description:

We’re hiring recent college graduates who are ready to tackle Pennsylvania’s toughest environmental problems with us. PennEnvironment’s two-year Campaign Organizer program partners staff with experienced environmental advocates and organizers to build the organizational power – the funds, the membership, the activist base and so on – that it takes to keep all of this critical work going for the long haul.

Responsibilities may include:

• Organizing a town hall meeting on solar power

• Releasing a hard-hitting report on power plant pollution

• Building a coalition around clean water or fracking

• Organizing news events and rallies, and generating the grassroots support it takes to win campaigns

• During the summer, each Campaign Organizer runs a citizen outreach office. This entails fundraising and building the organization, by canvassing and training others to canvass.

Locations:

We’re hiring for Philadelphia, and since we’re part of the Environment America Federation we also have sister groups in Boston, DC, Denver, Portland and Raleigh. If you’re flexible, you can apply for multiple locations.

Salary & Benefits:

Campaign Organizers earn $25,000 in the first year and $26,500 in the second year. Environment America offers a competitive benefits package.
