11923 / Research Grant Intern for Non Profit School
Yellow Breeches Education Center (YBEC) Carlisle
Job Description: This position will work with our Yellow Breeches Educational Center staff and financial/HR personnel to research possible educational grant dollars through area foundations or other grant possibilities. Student will build relationships with school personnel, including some area public school resources, as well as our school, to apply for grants and financial assistance for laptop computers, or classroom educational aids requested by our teachers and students. Intern will research and do all required process steps for assisting our non profit school. Student will gain insight in building professional relationships, research processes, and actually work directly with our teachers and perhaps some students to learn our needs and decide what areas we may be successful in.
NOTE: The person hired for this internship will be able to work on their own here at Dickinson, but would have to meet at the school located in Plainfield, PA, approx. once a week.
Increases skill level in: adaptability, contributing to team success, follow up, information monitoring and building partnerships.
Qualifications: Looking for Junior or Senior with interest in professional skills building and interest in community service.
Ability to travel outside of Carlisle to Plainfield school once a week or as needed for their schedule. Energetic, good communication skills helpful but intern will build these areas as project progresses. Should be above average in computer skills.
