The Strock Lab at Dickinson College, in collaboration with the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, is hiring a water quality technician to support the development of a high frequency sensor network in lakes across Pennsylvania state parks. This is a full-time position with funding for two years.

The Water Quality Technician Position provides technical support for the water quality monitoring program in Pennsylvania state park lakes; specifically, the high frequency sensor network and monitoring of harmful algal blooms. This position will coordinate with the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) in their efforts to manage 154 lakes throughout the commonwealth. This position provides the opportunity to perform research while informing the conservation and management of freshwater resources for present and future generations. The position requires strong written and oral communication skills; experience with laboratory procedures and field equipment for monitoring freshwater resources; and the ability to take initiative, troubleshoot, and solve problems with minimal supervision. A bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S) is required. A master’s degree is preferred. Travel may be required.
