Looking for a paid research opportunity that is challenging and meaningful? The Center for Sustainability Education (CSE) is hiring Research Assistants for a project that partners Dickinson College, the University of Virginia and others in measuring the nitrogen-footprints of colleges and universities. The Research Assistants will be trained in the use of UVA’s Nitrogen Footprint Tool, use the tool to calculate Dickinson’s footprint, and conduct analyses of strategies to reduce releases of nitrogen to the environment. There may be an opportunity to present results at a workshop at the Marine Biological Lab in Woods Hole, MA after the end of the semester.
CSE is looking for self-motivated students who are familiar and comfortable working with Excel spreadsheets, are willing to learn a complex spreadsheet tool, and have good quantitative skills to work 6 to 8 hours/week for 12 weeks in spring 2015.
