Colorado State’s mountain campus is offering various accelerated courses (2 weeks/course) this summer in Environmental Humanities!
About Colorado State’s mountain campus: This campus is located in a remarkable place: a valley about 90 minutes west of Fort Collins that abuts the north edge of Rocky Mountain National Park. The fairly remote campus (no substantial cell service, limited internet) can house a couple of hundred people, however, these classes are kept at around 15 students. Students generally live in rustic cabins (electricity, no running water, wood burning stove), and share meals in a common dining hall.
Courses being offered this summer:
- Environmental History of Colorado (HIST 373, May15-27).
- Environmental Ethics (PHIL345, May 28-June 11).
- Literature of the Environment (E339, June12-24).
- Art in Forest Ecosystems (ART380A5, June 25 -July8).
Each of the courses will provide great opportunities not only to learn in a unique experiential setting, but to develop vital leadership and communication skills. These courses have been customized substantially to take advantage of the unique environment, so if you’re looking to earn credits and live in the mountains of Colorado for a few weeks, this is the experience for you!
