The Transportation Planning Specialist Trainee position is a one-year comprehensive training program that includes formal, informal and on-the-job training designed to develop technical knowledge, competency and experience in the application of transportation planning and Geographic Information System principles. Starting salary for a Transportation Planning Specialist Trainee is $49,839 per year (Pay Group 6 Level 1). After successful completion of the trainee year the employee will be promoted to Transportation Planning Specialist 1 which is a Pay Group 7 position with a starting salary of $56,900 a year (see Standard Pay Schedule for more details).
