Wilderness Introduction to Life at Dickinson Pre-Orientation Leader
Trip Leaders will be leading one three-night Wilderness Introduction to Life at Dickinson (WILD) Pre-Orientation Trip for incoming first year students or one overnight trip for transfers and/or students studying abroad at Dickinson. Trip Leaders will be responsible for facilitating various orientation and outdoor activities.
Trip Leaders will be expected to attend training sessions scheduled throughout the spring semester. Training will include seminars on backcountry and leadership skills as well as a weekend trip to practice and demonstrate proficiency in those skills in April. Additionally, if you do not have a WFA or higher outdoor medical certification you must attend the WFA Course during the spring semester during the weekend of March 27th-29th. Please note: Training may proceed into May and will resume in August prior to the departure dates of the trips.
This is an entirely voluntary position, however; you receive a free WFA class, free trainings, and a free trip.
