The Cornell University Adirondack Fisheries Research program has an opening for a research technician. The technician will conduct work that seeks to connect the temperature and oxygen tolerances of brook trout with fishery outcomes. The work focuses on climate adaptation in stocking practices and uses a common-garden experimental approach to compare performance among hatchery strains of brook trout across a range of natural conditions. The project is a close collaboration with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, in support of its efforts to create self-sustaining fisheries for cold-water species in a warming world.
