The College Farm has an immediate opening for one student worker to assist with renewable energy education and outreach.\u00a0 The farm recently launched a new initiative to generate climate-friendly electricity by converting cafeteria waste into energy through microbial fermentation.\u00a0 Alongside this effort, we will teach the benefits of waste to energy systems to K-12 aged youth through virtual and in-person programming.\u00a0 Responsibilities of the student position will include developing and presenting educational videos, assisting with field trip curriculum and other outreach materials.\u00a0 Additionally, the student may assist with collecting food waste from community sources for conversion to energy at the farm.\u00a0 Prior knowledge of biogas and waste to energy systems is not required \u2013 full training will be provided.\u00a0 Desired skills & experience:\u00a0 comfortable working with children, public speaking, ability to work independently, attention to detail.\u00a0 Additional useful skills include video production, website development and graphic arts\/ digital design.
