All food and lodging are included!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>What: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Rutgers University-Newark, Dickinson College, and Towson University are hosting a 2-week long near-surface geophysics field camp Oregon Ridge Park in Maryland for first- or second-year undergraduate students interested in the geosciences.<\/p>\n<p><b>What is geophysics?<\/b><br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>Geophysics is the study of the physical structure of the earth using integrated geology, math, and physics to understand how the Earth works. Geophysicists combine laboratory and field experiments with computational and theoretical modeling to understand Earth processes. The field camp will focus on near-surface geophysics which is used in noninvasive investigations of environmental and engineering problems.<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>\u00a0<br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/><b>What will I do at the field camp?<\/b><br aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>Participants will work with graduate student mentors and experts in geophysics to use geophysical methods to study, probe, and learn more about dynamic processes in the Earth\u2019s critical zone.
