The intern will provide communication support for the Sustainability Initiative as we expand our webpage and conduct internal and external engagement efforts. The intern will also help with research related to WRI\u2019s GHG reduction projects, including but not limited to renewable energy purchasing, GHG accounting, and supply chain management. Through this position, the intern will make significant contributions to WRI\u2019s internal sustainability work by writing blogs, preparing content for external sharing, coordinating webinars, and supporting reduction tasks.<\/p>\n<div class=\"iCIMS_InfoMsg iCIMS_InfoField_Job\"><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/div>\n<div class=\"iCIMS_InfoMsg iCIMS_InfoMsg_Job\">\n<div class=\"iCIMS_Expandable_Container\">\n<div class=\"iCIMS_Expandable_Text\">\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">The intern will gain experience in the following areas:<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">Communications (60%)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Drafting and presenting an external communications approach for WRI\u2019s internal sustainability efforts including social media presence.<\/li>\n<li>Developing\/collecting and uploading content for WRI\u2019s Sustainability webpage<\/li>\n<li>Drafting blogs and other communication documents<\/li>\n<li>Coordinating webinar sessions and possible on-site workshop<\/li>\n<li>Drafting and editing materials for external sharing<\/li>\n<li>Developing any presentation materials as needed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">Research (40%)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Contributing research to existing reduction projects including supply chain management and renewable energy purchasing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div id=\"iCIMS_Expandable_Button\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"iCIMS_InfoMsg iCIMS_InfoField_Job\">Qualifications<\/div>\n<div class=\"iCIMS_InfoMsg iCIMS_InfoMsg_Job\">\n<div class=\"iCIMS_Expandable_Container\">\n<div class=\"iCIMS_Expandable_Text\">\n<ul>\n<li>Working towards or completed a Bachelor\u2019s Degree, with a preference for someone working towards or with a completed Master\u2019s Degree<\/li>\n<li>Passion or interest in sustainability and CSR<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of social media platforms and web design<\/li>\n<li>Excellent writing skills<\/li>\n<li>Strong oral communications skills<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated ability to work both independently and with a small team<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work calmly and enthusiastically in a (sometimes) rapidly changing environment<\/li>\n<li>Ability to think creatively and out of the box to address problems<\/li>\n<li>Good sense of humor<\/li>\n<li>Extremely well organized and efficient<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\"><strong>Final candidate will be required to take a writing test<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\"><strong>Finalists will need to submit 2 writing samples or other examples of communications media<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\"><strong>Duration: <\/strong>3 months<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\"><strong>Location:<\/strong> Washington, DC<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\"><strong>Final candidates will be required to take a writing test.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\"><strong>Salary and Benefits\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">This is an unpaid internship with a monthly $500 stipend available.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\"><strong>Location<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">Washington, DC<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\">\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\"><strong>Qualified applicants should apply online at\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wri.org\/careers\" target=\"_blank\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0066cc\">www.wri.org\/careers<\/span><\/strong><\/a>.
