NEW! This Winter at the Dickinson College Farm: Online Vegetable and Meat Ordering System

As a way to support our campus community over the coming winter months, the Dickinson College Farm will offer an online ordering system to purchase farm-raised grass-fed meats plus certified organic vegetables, pre-made frozen soups, frozen vegetables, and even canned goods!

Starting in January 2021, the College Farm will accept online orders and payment for curbside pick up each week. To learn more about how to sign up for the online winter buying club please go to https://www.harvie.farm/farm-stand/dickinson-college-farm

Frequently Asked Questions:

When does it start? Anyone that signs up for the winter buying club (see link for sign up above) will receive their first weekly email from the College Farm on Monday, January 4, 2021 by noon and each Monday thereafter. The email will include the farm’s availability list for products available for sale, including units available and cost per unit for each item listed.

The deadline for placing weekly online orders will be each Wednesday by noon for farm pick up or campus delivery on Fridays.

How do I navigate placing an order in Harvie? In order to initiate your weekly order on Harvie, you will need to choose your delivery location, as well as select the “Weekly Customized Box” option listed on the homepage. You will notice that the College Farm is charging a processing fee.

Selecting the “Weekly Customized Box” option initiates access to our weekly product availability list and order form. Have additional questions? Please email Jenn at halpin@dickinson.edu.

When does it end? TBD- we will continue our Winter Buying Club as long as supplies last! That said, we are well-stocked with meats, frozen foods, storage crops, and fresh produce growing in our greenhouses!

What products will be sold? The farm has a variety of lamb and beef cuts including ground meats, beef burger paddies, roasts, briskets, sausages, and hot dogs! We will also have farm-raised eggs!!

On the vegetable side, we have root vegetables like carrots, parsnips, potatoes, sweet potatoes, garlic, radishes, and cabbage. Fresh produce options will include greens like kale, chard, collards, spinach, and salad mix.

Additionally, we have prepared delicious frozen soups that are souvee-ready! Soups include traditional tomato soup, creamy cauliflower, bell pepper soup plus vegetable broth. We also have a variety of family or personal-size frozen vegetables like quartered tomatoes, bell pepper slices, chopped onion, and more!

Added to the list of products includes canned goods, farm-made soap, and farm-raised cornmeal!

I don’t eat meat – can I still participate? Most certainly! Meat is just one of many options available for purchase. 

How will I get my order? Each Friday there will be two options for picking up orders:

1pm to 5pm at the College Farm

OR

 3pm to 5pm on campus (Kaufman Bldg)

Do I have to be a member of CSA? Do I have to be affiliated with Dickinson? You do not have to be a member of the College Farm CSA to join the Winter Buying Club. Like any grocery store with an online ordering option, anyone is welcome to purchase from us.
