{"id":1806,"date":"2008-09-21T14:46:48","date_gmt":"2008-09-21T18:46:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.dickinson.edu\/farm\/?p=1806"},"modified":"2012-03-19T14:50:26","modified_gmt":"2012-03-19T18:50:26","slug":"dickinson-one-of-75-schools-saluted-for-going-green","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.dickinson.edu\/farm\/dickinson-one-of-75-schools-saluted-for-going-green\/","title":{"rendered":"Dickinson One of 75 Schools Saluted for Going Green"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/cumberlink.com\/news\/local\/dickinson-one-of-schools-saluted-for-going-green\/article_a6e17f04-33db-5921-a51a-4b6aabc71716.html\">Dickinson One of 75 Schools Saluted for Going Green<\/a><br \/>\nThe Sentinel<br \/>\nBy Jason Scott<br \/>\nSeptemeber 21, 2008<\/p>\n<div>\n<div>Dickinson College has been selected as one of the top 75 ground-breaking schools where sustainability has become the center of campus attention.<\/div>\n<p>Kiwi Magazine, in its latest issue, highlighted a few green selling points of each campus on the list, which comprises small to large universities and community colleges to Ivy League schools.<\/p>\n<p>Dickinson was recognized for its 50 percent wind-powered campus, which features a biodiesel plant, four Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, or LEED-certified buildings, and a transitional organic farm.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re very pleased to receive the recognition for the work we are doing,\u201d said Neil Leary, director of the college\u2019s new Center for Environmental and Sustainability Education.<\/p>\n<p>The center, funded by a $1.4 million grant from the Andrew W.
