We are absolutely thrilled to invite you to celebrate the start of a new academic year!The Food Studies Certificate Program will begin its inaugural semester with visits from some of the biggest names in food. The celebration will commence with a public lecture delivered by the world famous academic, author, and activist Raj Patel. Author of numerous celebrated articles and books, including “The Value of Nothing” and “Stuffed and Starved,” Dr. Patel will lead the Dickinson community in a discussion on the current state of our global food system. But the excitement doesn’t end there! The following day the Dickinson campus will be host to Hugh Acheson, James Beard award-winning chef, television personality, cookbook author, and education activist. Join Chef Acheson in several events around campus including a Lunch and Learn hosted by the farm and Career Center and a special edition of the pop-up restaurant GATHER.
