Frederick A. Lubich<\/strong> is the author and editor of seven books, including studies on Thomas Mann and Max Frisch as well as circa 400 scholarly, literary and journalistic publications in newspapers such as Argentinisches Tageblatt, New Yorker Aufbau, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung<\/em>. His translations include film scripts for transatlantic co-productions and Yoko Ono\u2019s rock opera New York Story<\/em>. His scholarly and creative work has been featured in the print media, on LP, CD\u2019s, in television and radio programs in the United States and abroad. He has lectured widely in over 30 countries. Aside from numerous articles, she published books on Heiner M\u00fcller (Ikone West<\/em>; Macht und Ohnmacht des Schreibens<\/em>) and, with Mirjam Meuser, two edited volumes on post-GDR literature: Literatur ohne Land?<\/em> Dr. Ludwig teaches at the Departments of Cultural and German Studies at Uni Bremen, at Dickinson\u2019s German Dpt.; recently, with Uwe Sp\u00f6rl, a seminar on \u201cForgotten Wende Literature\u201d (publication will follow). She is a scholar of modernist studies, in particular of the region of German-speaking Central Europe and of the interwar period. She focuses on the Viennese author Hermann Broch and the relationship between literature and architecture as a means of understanding modernism and modernity.
