Essay Due April 29 \/\/ Website due May 14 by 5pm<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The highlight of this semester will be a website project that students will undertake to explain the significance of an important political, military, or social reform campaign from the Civil War era.\u00a0 By\u00a0Monday, April 29<\/strong>, students must submit an 8- to 10-page narrative essay on their subject, relying on a range of primary and secondary sources, and employing Chicago-style footnotes.\u00a0 Papers will receive provisional or temporary grades. \u00a0By Tuesday, May 14<\/strong>, students should revise this essay and transform it into website on the free platform Weebly.\u00a0 Each website should include an array of properly credited and captioned images as well as at least one embedded short video (about 1 to 2 minutes).\u00a0 Projects will be graded on depth of analysis, research effort, and quality of prose. Late project submissions will be penalized 5 points per day.<\/p>\n

All submissions by email (either with Word doc or PDF attachment or by email URL link)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

By Monday, April 29<\/strong>, students must submit an 8- to 10-page narrative essay on their subject, relying on a range of primary and secondary sources, and employing Chicago-style footnotes.<\/p>\n

NOTE:\u00a0 Provisionally graded essays will NOT be penalized for lateness, but students must communicate clearly if they miss the 4\/29 deadline and they must submit NO LATER than 5\/3 or face penalties on their final project grade<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
