There is no aristocracy in this country, unless it be one of intellect, and if a black man becomes the moral and intellectual equal of the white man his social position will take of itself satisfactorily. It is not a matter of whites and blacks attending the same school; the real difficulty, if blacks are to be made to be forever an inferior people, is in allowing them to be educated at all.
