Community Sports Clinic
9:00 AM – 3:00 PM | Kline Athletic Building

The children of Dickinson employees who are in K-6th grades are welcome to join us at the Kline Athletic Building on January 19th for a free sports clinic. The clinic will run from 9am-3pm and will be run by the Dickinson Athletic Department and SAAC (Student-Athlete Advisory Committee). Please pack a water bottle, nut-free lunch, and a snack. Sneakers and athletic clothing are required. If you have more than one eligible child, please complete a separate form for each child. The clinic is limited to the first 50 registrants, and registration will close on 1/17 at 8 pm. Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration

Join us for an evening celebrating community and legacy featuring guest speaker Rogette Harris, MPA, MBA, Executive Director of Hope Station, a Carlisle nonprofit that promotes the economic and social mobility of Black and Brown individuals. Enjoy music from the Dickinson College Choir, poetry, and powerful student voices. Refreshments will be provided following the program.

Day of Service: Street Ready Gear and Grub Pop-Up
4:00 PM – 7:00 PM | CCHRA Cumberland Connection

Join the Center for Civic Learning and Action to volunteer for the Street Ready Gear & Grub Pop-Up! Volunteers will assist with distribution of supplies and meals for unsheltered neighbors in Cumberland County. Meet at Cumberland County Housing & Redevelopment Authority’s Cumberland Connection space (corner of N. Pitt and W. Penn Streets, a short walk from campus). RSVP via EngageD.

Film Screening of Expanding Sanctuary and Discussion
7:00 – 9:00 PM | Landis House

Join the Women and Gender Resource Center’s Latina Discussion Group for a film screening of Expanding Sanctuary, a powerful documentary about Philadelphia’s fight to stop police collaboration with ICE. There will be a discussion on immigration and activism following the film. This event is open to all with hopes to inform and build community awareness about immigration policies.

Stop by the HUB to meet members of the Center for Spirituality and Social Justice’s Multifaith Student Council and ask questions about their religious, spiritual, and secular traditions. Practice interrreligious dialogue and explore religious pluralism.

Film Screening of Emancipation and Live History Panel Discussion

Join the Popel Shaw Center for Race and Ethnicity for a screening of the film, Emancipation, followed by a panel discussion panel discussion by several Pennsylvania Past Players. These 19th Century figures will share commentary on the segment and tie together past and current history. The personas include William C. Goodridge (Entrepreneur and Station Master on the Underground Railroad) T. Morris Chester (Attorney, Journalist), Harriet Lee Smith (Entrepreneur, educator, philanthropist, conductor on the Underground Railroad), and Lydia Hamilton Smith (Prolific Real Estate Owner, educator, abolitionist).

Asbell Center for Jewish Life

Join the Asbell Center for Jewish Life’s Challah for Hunger Chapter to make and/or purchase delicious Challah Bread! Challah is a festive traditional Jewish bread served on most Jewish Holidays. Proceeds from bread sales are donated to Project Share, Carlisle’s local food pantry; we make lots of extra challah so feel free to stop by and buy a loaf for yourself AND your friends.
