People ask me why on earth did I major in Latin, and I would always tell them it was because of Prof. Lockhart.  I think he saw abilities in his students that we, ourselves, may not have recognized.  I remember being inspired both by his intellectual curiosity and his witty sense of humor. His energy and passion were infectious.
