Checking the File Output Type<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The camcorder allows you to select your desired recording format before you start recording. By default, the camcorder will record as an mp4 file. This is fine as long as what you&#8217;re recording is less than 30 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Planning to record something longer than 30 minutes? You&#8217;ll want to change the format to AVCHD so that your recording isn&#8217;t broken up into multiple files. To do so:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Press the <strong>Home <\/strong>button on the side of the camera<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Navigate to the <strong>Recording Setup<\/strong> menu<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select <strong>Movie Format<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select <strong>AVCHD<\/strong> and Confirm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. Switching to Auto Mode <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you aren&#8217;t looking to adjust many settings, for most situations, Auto mode works well and requires no setup. Holding the Camcorder Steady<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Good video depends on stable footage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Use the <strong>hand strap<\/strong> and keep elbows close to your body<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Move slowly when panning or tilting<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use a <strong>tripod<\/strong> whenever possible for interviews or longer recordings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Even small movements are noticeable in video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">8.
