The same number (one in four) of LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) individuals also experience domestic violence.<\/li>\n<li>Women ages 20 to 24 are at the greatest risk of becoming victims of domestic violence.<\/li>\n<li>Survivors of domestic violence face high rates of depression, sleep disturbances, anxiety, flashbacks, and other emotional distress.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Domestic violence is violence or other abuse by one person against another in a domestic setting. It may be termed intimate partner violence when committed by partner in an intimate\/romantic relationship against the other partner and can take place in heterosexual or same-sex relationships, or between former partners.
