During Homecoming & Family Weekend (09/20), faculty and staff of the Russian Department met with the students and their families to share teaching experiences, introduce the visiting professors, and talk about the prospects awaiting students of Russian. Among the guests was Dickinson alum Tim Carr ’13. A Russian and International Studies major at Dickinson, Tim encouraged students to learn Russian by speaking about his job:
“I currently work for Kroll Compliance in Reston, Virginia, doing due diligence and compliance analysis for the company’s Eastern Europe team. My work requires me to do research (both in Russian and English) into companies’ corporate histories to make sure they are following proper business practices and are currently in good standing.”
Professors also discussed with parents and students the opportunities offered by the Russian Department during this academic year, including study abroad programs and various social activities.
