The Russian Club held its annual concert event, “Dance and Dessert,” on Thursday, April 7 in the Social Hall. Entertainment was provided by the Eastern European women’s vocal ensemble Svitanya, who traveled from Philadelphia to perform folk songs in Russian and other Slavic languages. The group was made up of six singers who played the guitar, the balalaika, the drums, and the accordion. The members of Svitanya also taught the students traditional Russian folk dances, particularly circle and partner dances.
